Limited Warranty

This Limited Warranty is provided by Basis LLC, whose contact email is hello@surfbasis.com (β€œBasis,” β€œwe,” β€œour,” or β€œus”). This Limited Warranty is a voluntary manufacturer’s warranty and provides rights separate and in addition to any statutory rights provided to you by consumer law, which may vary depending on your location. If your Basis Surf Paddle Trainer (β€œProduct”) is defective, you have the right to choose whether to claim under this Limited Warranty or under applicable consumer rights laws, if any.

1. What does this limited warranty cover?


a. This Limited Warranty covers the Basis Surf Paddle Trainer purchased directly from Basis LLC or its authorized resellers in the United States or internationally.
b. Coverage: Under this Limited Warranty, Basis warrants that your Product will operate in accordance with its published specifications and be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for the applicable Warranty Period (as defined in Section 2).

 

 

2. Warranty Periods


a. The Warranty Period starts on the date of purchase of your Product (or the date of delivery, if later).
b. Warranty coverage is as follows:

Product Component

All original components

Warranty Period

Three (3) years from the date of purchase.

Rope components (consumable)

Six (6) months from the date of purchase.

 

The rope undergoes high stress through normal wear and tear so is expected to sustain costmetic aging that will not affect its functionality.

 

Warranty is limited to manufacturing defects.

 

After the six-month period, replacement ropes are available for purchase at a discounted price by contacting hello@surfbasis.com

c. Any component repaired or replaced under this Limited Warranty will be covered for the remainder of the original warranty period or 30 days, whichever is longer, unless otherwise required by law.
 

3. Conditions of the Limited Warranty

 

This Limited Warranty applies to you only if: 

a. You are the original purchaser of the Product, or in the case of a gift, the original gift recipient with proof of purchase.
b. The Product is used exclusively for non-commercial, residential, indoor, or outdoor use as intended and described in the user manual. Any use outside these parameters voids this warranty unless explicitly authorized by Basis LLC.
c. You contact Basis LLC directly to make a claim under this Limited Warranty, even if the Product was purchased through an authorized third party.

 

4. What is not covered by this Limited Warranty?

 

This Limited Warranty does not cover: 

  • a. Normal wear and tear, aging, or cosmetic damage (e.g., scratches, discoloration, or corrosion) that does not affect Product performance.
  • b. Damage or failure caused by: 
    • i. Improper use, maintenance, or cleaning.
    • ii. Use contrary to instructions in the user manual or published guidelines.
    • iii. Modifications or repairs made without Basis’s authorization.
    • iv. Use of third-party or incompatible components.
  • c. Damage caused by external factors, such as water exposure, extreme environmental conditions, or improper storage.
  • d. Consumable items (e.g., ropes) after their initial six-month warranty period.
  • e. Costs related to incidental or consequential damages, such as loss of use, transportation costs, or personal property damage. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation may not apply to you.

 

5. What will Basis do?

 

If a defect covered by this Limited Warranty arises and you submit a claim within the applicable Warranty Period, Basis will, at its sole discretion: 

  • a. Repair the defective Product or component using new or refurbished parts;
  • b. Replace the defective Product or component with a new or refurbished equivalent; or
  • c. Offer a refund or partial refund based on the time elapsed since the purchase.

Rope Replacement: If the rope component is defective within the six-month coverage period, Basis will replace it at no cost. After six months, discounted replacement ropes are available for purchase. All replaced parts or Products become the property of Basis LLC.

 

6. How do you obtain warranty service?

 

To make a claim under this Limited Warranty:

  • Stop using the Product upon discovering any defect or nonconformity.
  • Contact Basis LLC at hello@surfbasis.com and provide the following:
  • Proof of purchase (e.g., receipt or order confirmation).
  • A description of the defect or issue.
  • Photographs of the defect, if applicable.
  • Basis may require you to return the defective Product or component for inspection. If so, Basis will provide a prepaid shipping label or instructions for the return. 
  • Ensure the Product is properly packed to avoid further damage during transit.
  • All claims must be submitted within the applicable Warranty Period.
     

7. Additional Information

  • a. Basis will handle personal information received during a warranty claim in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • b. This Limited Warranty is non-transferable and cannot be extended or modified by any third party.
  • c. If any provision of this Limited Warranty is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

 

8. Limitation of Liability

 

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: 

  • a. This Limited Warranty is the sole and exclusive remedy for defects in your Product. Basis disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
  • b. Basis’s total liability under this Limited Warranty shall not exceed the original purchase price of the Product.
  • c. Basis shall not be liable for any incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use or inability to use the Product. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or the exclusion of certain damages, so these limitations may not apply to you.

 

This Limited Warranty does not cover: 

  • a. Normal wear and tear, aging, or cosmetic damage (e.g., scratches, discoloration, or corrosion) that does not affect Product performance.
