Check out the podcast videos below along with some of our favorite tips from each episode.

"One way to keep your balance and to keep your form and poise is to use your front hand. Watch Tom Curren or Brad Gerlach, you'll see that their front hand is always wherever they want to go, they keep pointing their hand and their eyes follow. And you're not staring at your fingertips, you're gazing past your fingertips. It's sort of like the sight of a rifle. You're looking and using it for ‘where am I going?’ That is how you initiate the turn and you have the confidence to be like, okay, this rail line is going to hold in. I'm going to stay seated into this. I'm not going to give up on it, just keep going."

- Devon Howard

“What it comes down to for me is if you think about it like a guitar player bending something into a key or a note, bending it in so it fits in and really just using your body as part of the instrument and getting locked into the coil. And it's usually about timing and maybe I need to delay the timing off the bottom to get it to the right timing on the top or vice versa or use a little bit more power to kind of explode and get to the lip with more speed.

All my movements ideally are tied into moving in the right frequency with the wave. I never really want to take myself out of that natural rhythm or the natural harmony of the wave. And so ideally, all the movements help facilitate that proper flow.”

- Dane Gudauskas

“You don't have to push nearly as hard as you think. When you see someone do these big giant powerful carves, you're like, ‘oh, they must just be pressing and pushing so hard.’ But it's not really like that. It's more that the wave has all this energy and power and you just kind of need to put yourself in a position and your board in a position to use this force that already is there.

And don't forcefully push into it because you get tense and you aren't allowing your body to just rotate and move. Just be like, okay, cool, I'm going to just let the wave do the work.”

- Parker Coffin
